Salim Parray, a feared LeT terrorist, has been neutralised

Salim Parray, a feared LeT terrorist, has been neutralised by Srinagar police, according to IGP Kashmir.

In Srinagar on Monday, Jammu and Kashmir police shot and killed 'dreaded' terrorist Salim Parray, who was linked to the banned terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), according to Inspector General of Police (Kashmir Zone) Vijay Kumar. The Kashmir Zone Police announced on Twitter that the operation is still ongoing and that more information is pending.

Parray, who allegedly instigated a wave of terror by executing some villagers in the Hajin area of north Kashmir's Bandipora district in 2017-18, was listed as serial number one on the J&K police's most wanted list last year.

Parray, who had been active since 2006 and was the longest-surviving militant, was captured twice and freed, according to police records. "Finally, in 2014, he rejoined and collaborated with Hizbul Mujahideen and the LeT," a police official added.
